Countries

A company is placed in a country only from evidence it published itself, strongest first. Nothing is guessed: a company with no clear signal is left unplaced. We place 5,251 of 18,147 listed companies (29%), so country counts are a floor, not a census.

3. A country-code domain (.de, .ca, .co.uk)
4. The location on its GitHub organization

Vanity domains (.ai, .io, .co) are not evidence. GitHub accounts of people are never read, only organizations. Each company page shows the exact evidence. Wrong country? Claim the page to fix it.
